Accreditation Scheme This scheme is a joint partnership between
the two Universities in Nottingham and is fully supported by
Nottingham City Council’s Environmental Services Department.
It aims to improve the standard of accommodation offered to students
by asking landlords to provide basic requirements of fire precautions,
repairs and cleanliness, which would be confirmed after inspection
by the relevant local authority. This is a voluntary scheme as
there is at present no legal obligation for landlords to comply
with the recommendations (unless their properties are designed
as Houses of Multiple Occupation).
Only properties which have reached accreditation
standard will be advertised by Student Accommodation Services.
